    Dear Toyota Fortuner owners...

What kind of motor oil does your casa use for your vehicle?

    Fully sythetic
    Semi synthetic
    Mineral

The reason for asking is that my Isuzu dealer said I should not use fully syunthetic or semi synthetic on my Alterra because these are not good for diesel engines with turbo.

Is this also the case for your Fortuners?

I'm using multi-grade 15W-50 API CI4. The highest so far available mineral oil available in the country-Valvoline brand. In the states available na ang API CJ.

1st gen tucson wgt manual specifies CF4 or higher, vgt naman CH4 or higher.

Almost any modern API rated, multigrade oil should be fine with your engine.

What matters more is that you follow the required maintenance schedules such as changing oil and oil filter every 5,000kms, etc. is followed.

Can I put Royal Purple into my brand new car?
Yes. Royal Purple currently offers many viscosity grades of API-licensed motor oils. To allow for proper break-in of the engine, Royal Purple recommends waiting until the manufacturer’s first scheduled oil change or a minimum of 2,000 miles in new gasoline engines. Allow 8,000 to 10,000 miles before using Royal Purple in diesel engines.
    (note: Underline is mine).

Di pa kasi masyado hulmado mga piston mo dito kelangan mahulma pa using mineral oil usually 20w-40.
