With reported decrease of 43% of sales of Toyota REVOs from 2003 and 2004 due to implementation of the new excise tax law and removal from exemption of 10-seater segment, Toyota would definitely change the strategy. Just imagine the economic effect of thousands of filipinos losing jobs from assembly plants. I've read a few months ago that Toyota has consolidated their assembly plants in the Philippines and close those less productive ones. Tapos ito pang bagong news na siguradong magsara na naman ng additional plants.

From AutoIndex.com, it says that Toyota Philippines produce three of their products to be exported or sold locally. Toyota Philippines has plants for REVOs, CAMRYs, and ALTIS. So, this is a big loss both export and local jobs. If these lawmakers made a law to drive these investors away, have they done anything to attract them back? Paano if tuluyang isara na ang lahat na assembly plants ng Toyota, madagdagan na naman ang jobless filipinos na ngayoy in millions na sa Pilipinas.

So, Filipinos are left with more jobs lost and more expensive vehicles. IMO, It is optimistic to have these INNOVA's on the P800,000 price range when it has VVTi engines. But we'll see if it is really on that price range when they start to sell these vehicles. Kasi I thought that TOYOTA AVANZA (which is smaller than INNOVA) would be the one in this range.

I doubt if the Innova will become a mega taxi since it lacks seating capacity and third row access is difficult.

And the Shuttle service thingie using ex-Korean and ex-Japanase vans is picking up speed. :D

and if the price range is kinda high for the j (base) model, surely doubt if they will convert that to fx's..siguro stick to adventure na lang or di kaya xwind..hehe

hmm..di kaya yung mga delica na ang mga susunod na gawing shuttle fx's? havent seen one personally.

Delicas are already being used as shuttles. However, for the same price you could get a Korean van with more seats.

i doubt also if it will be used as a mega taxi. I saw how the seats fold at the rear and its only good for 2.

Innova diesel engine has more HP than existing revo. But does the extra 16hp good enough to lug around the extra 200kgs ? Innova curb weight: 1715 kgs. Revo 1495-1545kgs. Difference: 215kgs-150kgs. Revo 2L=86HP, Innova Crdi=102HP difference: 16hp. Torque: Revo 165, Innova 200.

it's the torque that you will need to get going... 200 vs 165 looks like a lot of added moving force already.
