List of Toyota D4D Probems (Choking, Hard Starting, etc.)

Kapapalit ko lang ng SCV last week sa denso Cabanatuan siningil ako ng 6500 sa parts and 1500 sa labor. Pinalinis ko narin yung fuel tank siningil ako 900. Malaki pinagbago ng 2005 hilux. Ang ganda ng hatak parang bago ulit at pati konsumo gumanda din nag full tank ako kanina around 8.75km/l na sya, dati bago ko pagawa nakaka 7-7.5 km/l lang sya

mga sirs, which variant po ba ng Innova ang ok as far as maintenance and fuel consumption is concerned? which has a lesser problem in the Innova in terms of fuel type are concerned? mas matipid po ba sa maintenance ang manual or the automatic is much better?

Yes sir kay Jethro ko pinagawa. Yung longer version din kinabit nya sa akin.

Pag may time balik ulit ako kay Jethro, napansin ko pagnaka incline parking (yung engine part ang nasa baba) pag start ko maitim ang usok. Pero pag pantay wala sya usok.

if you want less headache.. I would suggest na go for VVTi pero kung conscious ka sa fuel consumption at tatakbo ka ng 20K km/year.. you can either go for Innova Diesel but be prepared also sa headache ng Innova Diesel..

i have a D4D. 8 years and no dramatic problems. lucky? perhaps. standard? more likely.
my diesel gives me at least 244 km per 1000 kesos fuel. the vvtis, if the threads here are accurate, will probably give you 148 km per 1000 kesos fuel.
since i bought my d4d, i had only one replacement of fuel delivery-related part, costing less than 4000 bucks (casa pa yon!).
medyo water-resistant pa, compared to vvti..

at least yung una, medyo na-sales talk. bago pa kasi innova noon and me coming from a korean van..... but yung pangalawang bili ko, ako na yun...

TOYOTA!!! once a TOYOTA always a TOYOTA!!! hahaha TOYOTA matibay,TOYOTA madaming parts,TOYOTA mura ang parts........paniniwala ng mga oldsss nothing beats a TOYOTA.....two of my classmates uses an Innova pamasok un both of those innova broke down...balik sa casa....ayaw mag start,pag start kala mo kabayo tas mamamatay(suggestion ng toyota balintawak mag stick sa isang gas station).............pero maganda D4D dipende sa gamit at maintenance lang siguro.....four of my relatives uses toyota with D4D engine(2 innova,1hilux,1land cruiser no issues bukod sa na uubos na coolant ng 2012 G at 2013 V innova)

sa Vietnam nga halos lahat na taxi innova at common SUV ang fortuner sa daan...siguro yung iba may na encounter pero hindi naman sa lahat.
