August 23rd, 2013 11:11 PM #1511Kapapalit ko lang ng SCV last week sa denso Cabanatuan siningil ako ng 6500 sa parts and 1500 sa labor. Pinalinis ko narin yung fuel tank siningil ako 900. Malaki pinagbago ng 2005 hilux. Ang ganda ng hatak parang bago ulit at pati konsumo gumanda din nag full tank ako kanina around 8.75km/l na sya, dati bago ko pagawa nakaka 7-7.5 km/l lang sya

August 30th, 2013 05:13 AM #1517so all issues related to D4D engines is just because of the SCV? The new batch of D4D has a better SCV na? How about the EGR system( not sure if its the right term)? is it also something to worry about? or part ng regular maintenance dapat yun?

as far as i know, toyota never came up with an official announcement regarding these so-called engine "issues".
and, in my opinion, these problems of "premature failure" were in the small minority of the units only. whether these were real malfunction or fuel quality problems, is unclear to me. in my case, they replaced my scv after 75-80K, so i am willing to list it down under "wear and tear"..
what i do know, is the diesel innova has been the runaway bestseller for many years now, and may very well continue for several years more. the competition seems to have nothingl to pit against it..
