List of Toyota D4D Probems (Choking, Hard Starting, etc.)

drive hard pero hindi redlining ha hehe, ibang damage aabutin diyan hehe.

driving hard, tanggal ang lahat ng carbon residue na na naiipon sa fuel pump and of course, machines (common rail) like that kind of running.

Agree ako ke sir p_borj. Been driving my 2005 innova D4D hard since i got it. Hataw sa expressway about 160kph yun na topspeed nung innova ko kasi. Didn't baby it and so far wala pa rin ako problema about choking and stalling. Wala din black smoke. I use the regular engine oil that toyota recommends and change oil every 4,000 kms.

Yung mga pang rent na Hi-ACE d4d samin mga wala ring problema. Biyaheng bicol, baguio, sagada. Baka nga tama ang theory run it Hard... Ganon din kasi magdrive mga driver samin ang bibigat ng paa

Majority of a/t kasi have no sports mode or manu-matic kaya no choice ma near-redline on each gear. Nakakaranas lang on the last gear which is bihira kung di naman madalas sa expressway.

and lahat ng grandia m/t. sana ma-list kung ano mas maraming choking issue sa Innova, A/T or Manual. Kasi sa Fort panay matic dahil kakalabas pa lang ng m/t.

parang sira ata ung turbo nya... kasi lately ko lang nadrive ulit ung Innova family car namen, and pansin ko, wala na ung whine nun turbo. pagkakaalam ko dati meron un eh. and parang kumupad... I also noticed na pag cold start, nagstart sya for 1 second then magstastall.. prang kapos.. kelangan pa tapakan. ung Turbine nga ba ang culprit ditO? salamat po sa mga sasagot

If this is still warranty, you're best option is to bring it to your dealer.

problem is that out of warranty na sya. 2005 model eh.. Innova E M/T

Parang supply pump problem yan. Pero mapa scan ka muna para sigurado.

sir...my bro had an innova 08 and last year he started to experience some abnormalities mentioned in this forum...i bought a tucson late 08 and i can say its almost perfect no regrets. my wife is planning to buy a fortuner (because of its looks and the name) but with the issues at their d4d engine, i dont think its the right time to buy a toyota diesel.

we went to toyota dasma to check the latest fortuner and when we asked about the issue they said it was already corrected but they said we can choose the gas variant instead.

for us, we'll have to wait (maybe) until the issue of the D4D engine is resolve before we decide whether to buy a diesel engine from toyota

duh, why risk getting a D4D Fortuner. Sasabihin ba naman ng mga ahente ng Toyota na may problema pa rin ang D4D nila? of course not. Since 2006 sinasabi na nila yang "na-resolve na namin" at ayun, yung 2008 D4D ni sir fireblade, nagkaproblem, kaya nga gumawa na rin siya ng paraan para malaman sa TMP.

Get a Montero Sport instead. Or kung gusto niyo pa rin talaga ang Fort, get the VVTI 2.7 variant, sure ball magaling ang Toyota sa gas engines.

Dieseldude.....both of this units are diesel engines? What would you recommend diesel engine with a large cargo space as we need it in our business, not a pick-up base since matagtag for Mrs. Thanks
