List of Toyota D4D Probems (Choking, Hard Starting, etc.)

Ask ko lang mga guys if you experience in your innova. Mine kasi I was driving at a speed of 120km and may black smoke daw na nakita ang uncle ko kasi at that time they are behind me, but below that speed ok naman wala usok anu kaya yun guys. Siguro report ko na lang sa casa malapit na din me mag 20km PMS.

madalas sa d4d yung black smoke.. possible yung EGR yan need linisin

mga tol ask ko lang what EGR stands, kasi nung tinawag ko yung na encounter kong usok sabi sa akin ng Service Advisor maaaring galing daw sa exhaust manifold or baka EGR.

Our family business has maybe a dozen innovas. My service unit experienced choking problems during the warranty period, pero di lumabas ang sakit nung pinasok ko. It came back post warranty (2005 unit), reset ECU lang ok na. Now, the service unit of my cousin, 2005 unit, is experiencing the choking problem. Idling wont hold, namamatay. Change filter, reset ECU. Ganun pa rin. Now, the request by casa is to replace the supply pump, estimated amount 60K, at wala pang stock! Mileage is at 43K. Dito kasi sa akin dumadating ang mga repair request ng company vehicles namin.

Nice sharing your experiences sir on your D4D Innovas. Like others said, bakit ba ang pinoy eh mahilig mag-risk sa Toyota D4D engines, why not get the VVTI instead or kung diesel pa rin talaga ang gusto niyo, why not try Isuzu or Mitsu cars.

i thought that toyota already fixed this problem on their d4d engines???????
