September 14th, 2008 12:31 PM #223The issue should be brought up to media, this is a major safety concern but up to now toyota has done nothing about the problem... A recall is a must!! After years as a reliable brand now they are putting it to waste and kept silent about the issue
OT: at first we also dreamed of owning a Toyota for it is known as durable, since our rides before are korean made Kia besta, so when the Innova J variant was first released we were the first prospective buyers of the D4D version... but we opted to buy a 2nd hand kia carnival instead since its much cheaper and have more power options.. after 2 years, we traded the carnival for a carens instead for the innova since we learned the D4D problems...
Btw, i saw a fortuner in global city spewing black smoke everytime the car accelerates from stop.. its really heavy black smoke like an old bus along edsa... and that same day i saw an innova struggling its way up guadalupe edsa, it seems the driver cannot fully step on the accelerator as the innova starts to spew black smoke...
toyota D4D DENR certificates should be revoked since the LTO is giving 3years registration to brandnew cars on the assumption that a brandnew car will be environment friendly for the 1st 3 years...but some new D4D engine performs much worse than a 20 year old diesel engine..

mabuti po siguro magtulungan na lang ang mga naka d4d's about sa problem na ito. dito po down south, i mean socsksargen, davao, may mga nakikita na rin po akong innova na umuusok pero di pa black, normal pa lang ''siguro'' yun na usok'. pero 3years old pa lang ang innova dito sa atin sa pinas' paano na yan after 5 to 8years' tsk tsk tsk!!!!

September 15th, 2008 04:32 AM #225hi I'm a newbie here, just got innova j 2 days ago, d4d ang napili ko, but not satisfied w/ the engine performance, since i've compared it to carens and strada, some how mas maingay yung engine and less power, anyway diesel engine has bigger oil sump and larger filter, kaya mas mahal ang filter, and with oil naman it has more oil , i think d4d hve 7 liters against 4. something ng vvti. another thing is, it is advise to use fully synthetic to all crdi engine, since it run hotter than conventional diesel engine for its lean burning configuration and turbo system. does anyone knows abt j variant?
hinde kasi umiilaw yun door open warning ko sa van eh. ang di ko lang alam kung ganito talaga yun J, o yun J ko lang. thx
