December 12th, 2005 01:31 AM #11yeah usually stock suspension is just OK, with aftermarket parts you can fine tune your suspension to whatever you like. If you can afford a fortuner I guess a set of shocks and springs wont hurt you that much specially once youve ridden and feel the comfort it'll give you. I like the suspension of the fortuner but it isnt for everyone. cheers!!!

removing the front shocks of the fortuner is not as easy as other common 4wds. it will take about minimum 3 hours to change it.

Ganoon ba kahirap tangalin yong Front shock ng Fortuner? Di naman sya nakapasok sa loob ng spring tulad ng Innova.

the shock is inside the spring just like the innova. only difference is its longer. its a strut design, so you have to remove the whole spring/shock assembly, put a spring compressor, remove the top plate, remove spring, fit it to the new shock, install the top plate, making sure that the position of the top plate is aligned, re install the shocks. also remember the shock is at its full extension, some times you have to remove the anti sway bar to make the suspension on full droop for easy reinstalling and removing. after all this reinstall the tires. if done both sides at the same time by four people work can be cut down to about an hour.
the design is like the series 90 and 120 prado, toyota tacoma, new hi-lux. we have changed the shocks na of the new hi-lux wala pang fortuner kase na ubos ang stock in manila pa lang.

Anobody knows kung meron available na torsion or anti-sway bar para sa rear suspension ng Fortuner?
I think this will help minimize the body roll.... ewan ko lang ha, just an idea.
Comments plz...

Just a tip dudes. Maybe you could wait for some time since the Fortuner is new in the market, maybe... just maybe... when they see the defects or stuff that needs to be rectified, sometimes they'll just recall the units and install new parts... free of charge. It happened to me one time dun sa Suzuki Esteem ko. They recalled all units and changed the shocks. Its still hard but it was improved. BUT IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY..... JUST DO IT! swoosh.....
