Note on sealing the air inlet.

By design, the inlet allows a little bit of outside air into the cabin (even if set to recirculate) for health reasons. It basically allows air from the outside to displace the CO2 build up (which passengers exhale) in the cabin. The bad air typically exits from vents at the rear of the vehicle, usually hidden under the bumper on both rear fenders..

In time, wear and tear on the recirculation flap seals may allow more air to come in than usual. However, going so far as sealing it airtight may not be the best for vehicles that normally carry multiple adults on long trips. The lack of oxygen may contribute to nausea and discomfort in the long haul. A work around is to "air" the cabin every now and then by cracking open the windows for a few seconds during the trip.

pls note that there are other vents in the car. also the design of air vent and flaps makes it a dust catcher.

^ Curious as to where these vents are.

You usually have a cabin filter to take care of most airborne dust.

rear has vents covered with very thick material synthetic materials. older models do not have cabin filters.even with filters not all dust will be filtered so do not even attempt to let outside air in kung ayaw mo maligo sa alikabok lalo na kung matagal mong hindi binuksan ang air vent.

Which is which kaya? But from my experience, iba talaga ang pasok ng amoy nya compare nung una. Baka may na ipit na foreign materials in between the flaps and the wall of the vent. Hazardous naman kasi kung may opening nang kaunti sa harap. Yung papasok na usok from emission ng sasakyan ahead of you will make you dizzy/sleepy while driving. Mas delikado yun.

mayroon kasi yan parang foam na manipis sa perimeter ng flap na eventually nasisira. kaya siguro pumupasok na yung amoy sa loob. ganyan yung luma ko sasakyan dati, corollo big body. yung usok ng bus naamoy ko sa loob ng kotse so pinasara ko during air-con cleaning. so nung time na binaklas ko ang dashboard ko sa Innova I did not have second thoughts para i-seal it completely. you cannot also believe the amount of dust na nag-accumulate sa loob ng vent at flap. what you can do is put a thick material some sort of filter sa opening ng vent if you would not like to seal it.

Sir Ginnova paano po tinatanggal yang mga yan? Thanks po..

Remove the wiper arms first. yung nut is covered by a small plastic. then open the hood para tanggalin yung cover ng wiper assy.
