one more thing, di ba the old 5K engine series (late 70's or early 80's enigine model pa ito) and ginagamit sa revo and not the newer engine models....

kaya kahit ipa EFI mo iyun ganung old technology engine, wala talangang efficiency yun.

Its an old engine design, on a matic tranny vehicle that carries more weight than a normal car... plus our own bad manila traffic and it will consume more gas (heck the traffic has made me consume 7 to 8++km/l with my diesel pick-up). I have a Tito with a 1.8L Revo GLX a/t (one of the first models to come out) and he's happy with it 6 years down the road.

My sis and bro-in-law are looking for a family car with a 500-600K budget... and they're considering a slightly used Revo GLX diesel since i myself have had good experiences with it. I think its pretty baseless...

i agree, sinaunang design na ang 5K. pero dahil ang layunin ng toyota is kumita, e di bale luma basta umaandar. also this will keep the production costs low, kaya ganun.

my ride is a 1.8 gas efi 2000 revo gl and medyo malaks nga sa gas especially ako na laging short trips and traffic ( quirino taft to makati ave and v.v.). maswerte na ang 6-7 km/l.

nitong weekend galing ako ng atimonan quezon and nagikot-ikot sa lucena naubos kong gas is P1,200.00 for a trip na 460 kms (= 9.2 km/l na vortex gold)

I'm planning to buy a new ride na mas practical dahil lilipat na ko sa cavite next month and i'll probably get a 1.3 L (vios base doon sa replies na narecieve ko doon sa thread na binuksan ko). but i'll be keeping my revo kasi malaking tulong sa kin especially kapag merong family trips and merong malalaking dala

I think Tulfo's Article is plain journalistic stupidity. A car can be a gas guzzler, but by no means does it mean its defective. Ano gusto niyang mangyari? Palitan lahat ng makina ng Revo? Even If toyota describes the engine as efficient, the term, and advertising in general is relative.
