September 21st, 2008 12:16 PM #1May napansin akong tagas ng langis sa gilid ng head gasket. Pag tinanggal ko ang oil cap, may pressure at tumatalsik din ang langis? Candidate na ba for overhaul oto ko? Top lang or engine overhaul na?
Can you recommend reliable shops or mechanics? Ano usual presyo?

Ganito din po yung problem ng sa GLi ko same model din. Kaya nasira yung alternator ko (nabasa kasi).

March 19th, 2009 08:37 PM #4Check your oil dipstick,if you are adding oil every now and then, then your head gasket is worn-out, also take one of your spark plug out, if there is an oil trace around it, then the gasket is really gone, you will need to overhaul it, change the piston rings and better yet also change all the valves, it will run like brand new again, if i were you I will take it to a reputable mechanic.

confirm head gasket and not cam cover gasket?
car that old... expected na yung blow by. kung wala ka naman nararanasan na overheat, low power at sobrang lakas kumain ng langis/gasolina, antayin mo na lang masira na tuluyan...
di ko alam ang cost ng overhaul ng engine mo, pero sa honda kasi, sometimes its better na lang to just buy a relatively fresh surplus engine than to do a full overhaul. gas engines kasi have tighter tolerances than diesel, kung hindi magaling yung nag ooverhaul or nag aasemble karaniwan napapalpak din.

April 1st, 2009 03:35 PM #7magpalit ka na lang ng makina sir kasi kung ang presyo lahat lahat para sa overhauling ng makina mo tapos ang presyo naman ng surplus na makina halos di nagkakalayo... magpalit ka na lang at di lang yan puede ka pang makakana ng mas magandang makina kesa sa nauna mong makina

April 21st, 2009 05:05 PM #10nako dipende sa sira yan kung ang cam at crankshaft mo may gasgas na malalim natural na magpapa machine shop ka para ire-standard ang size nyan ganun din sa cylinder chamber at piston kung ipapa oversize pa ang piston ring mo.
cylinder head puede ipa-machine shop kung halimbawang may kubikong at sa valve holes pa dyan palang gagastos ka na ng malaki puwera pa sa papalitang piyesa at labor ng mekaniko, ibig sabihin kung taglay ng makina mo ang lahat sira na ganyan maigeng bumili ka na lang ng surplus na makina galing japan pero sa pagbili nyan medyo risky kasi unang una walang warranty ang karamihan nyan tapos kung hindi ka pa marunong pumili o minamalas malas ka pa puede rin maka tiyempo ka ng pinoy surplus ibig sabihin gamit na yan dito tapos kung minamalas ka pa kung minsan makakakuha ka sa una maganda pero mga ilang buwan lang sira na agad kaya kung bibili ka ng surplus na makina.
ang presyo ng makina dipende sa sa gusto mo kung gusto mo pa rin ang kaparehas ng makina mo mura lang yan 30k to 35k lang yan kasama na ang tranny at ECU pero meron akong nakita 35k lang 4AGE 20valve na silvertop kasama na ang tranny na 5 speed, kaso ang medyo may kabigatan yung pag mount nito at wiring kung minsan pa kinakailangan pang palitan ang fuel tank mo.
