namimiss ko na tuloy yung AE92 ko. I could still remember the day we got it, August 24, 1990, opo, grade 1 palang ako nun at bumabagyo nung diniliver samin from Toyota Balintawak. In terms of performance, hindi ako binigo ng AE92, yung AE111 ko eh ubod ng bagal. We sold it last July 2005 to give way to a newer vehicle. Madami na rin sakit yung AE92. Halos every month may nasisira eh. Kakamiss

medyo o.t. lang: muntik na kami bumili nuon ng cbu '89 corolla kaso na buwisit dad ko kasi at that time, meron "hoarding" ng mga cbu units and para makakuha ka add ka dapat mga 10k to 15k. eh barat dad ko, so he bought a "brandnew" box type lancer instead.

i think kaya nagkaubusan nuon ng mga cbu's dahil sabik ang mga tao non sa bagong model. for so many years puro box type lancer and corolla lang ang mabibili non. later nagkaron din ng "hoarding" ang lite-ace. sorry for the o.t.

He told me na ingatan ko daw dahil matitibay daw yung mga CBU. Don't know if he's just pulling my leg.

One thing I notice is it does not have that gauge to tell RPM (tachometer baga yun?) compared to other 89's I see around.

Does anyone here still own such model and would you know how to identify whether it's locally assembled or imported? What would be the more noticeable differences.

    Salamat po sa inyong opinion.
    Hello Don Camote,

Since yung Toyota Corolla XL mo is 89 model (EE90 body type) sigurado ako na Completely Built Unit (CBU) sa Japan. 3 klase kasing Corolla lumabas dito yung Corolla 89 na Completely Built Unit, Corolla 90 to 91 kung hindi ako nagkakamali model na Semi Knocked Down (SKD) unit at Corolla na model 91 to early 92 na Completely Knocked Down (CKD) unit. XL and XE tipid sa gas powered by 2E engine, 1.3 liter, 12 valve.
