October 30th, 2011 05:47 PM #1hi fellow tsikoteers.. ask ko lang kung naexperience nyo na magpacamber alignment. ginagawa kasi sakin is kinikil yun kabitan ng bolts, so far ok naman kasi nawala ang kabig sa steering. only 1side of wheel lang ang kinikil nya which is the right front side lang. pansin ko lang bakit naging mas positive camber yun right side ng wheel ko kaya medyo labas ang gulong ko compare dun sa left side na parang naka negative camber sya. pero sa performance ok naman nga kasi walang kabig pero naiirita lang ako kasi halata ko sa tingin o silip lang na hindi sila parehas. sana mabigyan nyo ako ng feedback bakit ganito. ok lang ba na ibalik ko yun right side wheel ko sa dati o hayaan ko na ganito nalang.

November 5th, 2011 03:08 PM #4kung minsan po, ay yung katawan o fender ang may depekto, hindi ang suspension. for example, a fender bender was incorrectly repaired, resulting in sheet metal closer to the tire than what should be. if i may suggest, drive the car on the road and see if it pulls to one side or not. then try it in reverse. on a flat surface, a good suspension alignment should not pull to any side, forward or backward.
btw, akala ko nawala na ang kikil, welding, at pukpok sa suspension alignment. dapat ay llave at shims na lang..

today's cars require four wheel alignment checking and adjusting where applicable:
ride height
curb weight
tire size, pressure and condition
caster
camber
steering axis inclination
front toe
rear toe(independent rear suspension)
toe out on turns
setback, and
thrust angle
steering wheel over center adjustment.
if you have worked on full size american cars, sure they have shim adjusters for short and long arm suspension. but the nnewer cars have cam adjusters. in this case of a macpherson strut from suspension, there are available adjustable strut mounts where you can adjust camber and possibly caster. when the TS mentioned about "kikil method", he was referring to repositioning the strut mount on the frame of the car to adjust camber
