that's really up for you to decide and on what vehicle you prefer the most...
that's the same scenario as to what ive experienced, but I ended up purchasing a used vehicle - toyota innova, which has been slightly used and no signs of abuse (dents, scratch, engine overuse, etc.)
just be careful as you would be buying a used vehicle. bring a person who knows technical know-how (a mechanic) so you wont be fool around upon getting a used vehicle, exterior appearance may be too deceiving, but the question is how about the interior and especially the engine performance?

Think twice were you will use the car . Having a big family you need an Innova and for a family of three or four an Avanza is a good choice but like other suggestion is follow your heart and what will make you happy.
