Newer is not always better IMO.

Question lang, mas mabilis na ba bagong Altis kaysa GLi? May nakapagtest sa inyo?

4AFE single cam 16 valve vs 1-ZZFE twin cam 16 valve VVTI:

both on paper and actual road test conditions the vvti engine on the current altis is superior. i drive my dad's 1.6 altis sometimes, and i have two words to describe the engine's torque: class leading.

4A-FE is SOHC?

There's also no question that VVTi is superior, but the current Altis is taller and heavier than the AE101. I computed very similar power-weight ratios (Altis is 1.6J M/T).

I previously owned a 95 corolla GLi, and wowwww hehehehe, sulet!!! I sold it after using it for 5 years, sa 5 years na un, very minimal mga naging sira.

Pansin ko lng, sakit ng 93-97 corollas ung power steering, laging nasisira. Pero overall, the AE101 GLi is a very good car!

Best in its class, up until VTEC power came along! :freak:

AE101 is the best corolla there is! napakareliable! madaling pormahan! kahit nasan ka madaling makakita ng parts! we've been using it for a decade now! and tingnan niyo naman astig pa rin ang tindig! 2E engine oversized! open carbed! SiR na lang ang umiiwan sakin tsaka syempre 4A-GE!! May baffles pa ko sa likod.. hmmm...
