Same diameter din pala yung steel rim. 225/50r17 is way too low compared to 265/65r17. You can try to get a cheap tire of the same size. I would go to a shop that sells tires and rims and ask for a slightly used oem 265/65r17. There should be loads of those as a lot of people upgrade their PPVs wheels as soon as they get them. Is the steel rim 7" wide?

Bro the E comes with 225/70 R17 while the G comes with 265/65 R17.
The difference is only 4.1%, which is negligible if you treat it as a donut tire until you get to a vulcanizing shop.
My tires are 225/40R18 and my spare is 205/55R16 and I drive hundreds of provincial kilometers a day, it has never been a problem for me.

March 12th, 2017 12:20 AM #875I saw Vinj's fender flares. Makakuha nga ganun. Bushwackers daw meron for E, pero a bit too brusko for my taste. Btw, I was wondering if I can get wider tyres on the stock rims of the Hilux or Fortuners. If yes, how wide can I go and what other aspects of the tire and handling changes?

Bushwhackers don't go very well with OEM rims. Vinj's flares are your best bet IMO.
When upsizing, be mindful of the overall circumference of the tire, in order to minimize speedometer error, suspension stress, and fender rubbing. Usually it's safe to stay within 5% of the OEM size.
Usually, you can go up to 275 or even 285 without needing a lift. Since most wide tires are AT with more aggresive tread than the stock AT or HT tires, expect a noisier ride on paved roads.

March 14th, 2017 04:18 PM #879Are there any subtle cues to look for when assessing 2nd hand wheels? Was thinking of using the Fortuner 18 rims for my Hilux.
