Now that’s something different for a Toyota.

True. I read somewhere that they're collaborating in some areas.

agree. but the entry level Rav-4 is still more expensive than the hybrid Cross.

For the price of the hybrid Cross, I would consider the Subaru XV instead. Or if you want a more comfortable vehicle, the CRV 2.0S (gas model).

there's always "the other car," maya lang konti may magpost na dito about the Territory and the Coolray

pero buyers of the Cross is probably looking at the Toyota badge and the fact that the higher end version is a Hybrid.

I have a friend who is planning to get one next year. she feels a Toyota will have better support in her hometown. Hence, when asked how's the Cross... it's a cheap Rav-4

I can't compare it to the Fortuner as the Cross is a crossover.

With our local conditions, a hybrid may be something that needs proper care compared to the usual gas NA engine. Iniiwasan nga ng iba yung turbocharged gas, ano pa hybrid?

We can always check the number of hybrid cars sold locally. I bet the numbers will not be that much. Even with the T-badge, it is a gamble. Yung Lexus nga, di rin masyado popular locally mga hybrid models nila.

That's strange for a Toyota Crossover SUV.

It's because the Rav4 was manufactured / assembled in Japan and its not qualified for JPEPA as well. It has a bigger 2.5L gas engine. Meanwhile the Corolla cross including the hybrid ones was assembled / made in Thailand. It benefits from ASEAN FTA.

They are collaborating years ago. The USDM Yaris was actually a rebadged Mazda2...
