August 14th, 2023 01:32 AM #61What's the variant of your friend's Kicks po?
It would be interesting to do a comparo between the Kicks VL vs Yaris Cross HEV.
Parang mismatch kasi comparo Yaris Cross V vs Kicks VE.
It's interior comfort/features vs HEV advantage.
Feature-wise and interior wise, NVH level, and performance, which car is better?

August 14th, 2023 04:55 PM #62His is a Nissan Kicks VE (basically the middle trim). We haven't checked out the Yaris Cross HEV so no idea to compare but as anecdotal from me and his mom (as passengers), the Kicks cushions/seats are great, especially when compared to the Montero ('12), Sylphy ('14) and Fortuner ('18). But, if there would be an upgrade that Nissan could really introduce to the Kicks, it might be the suspension. Better dampening. It isn't a bouncy ride, but since the tires are thin sidewall profiles, gap between the tire and wheelarch isn't that big, there is very limited suspension travel for the car so it kind of easily gets "bottomed out" if you don't properly slow down for bumps/humps/potholes.
Don't know how the suspension of the Yaris Cross HEV Compares but I am guessing it would be "similar" as it is a value vehicle with a hybrid system added to it, but correct me if I am wrong.
Also wonder why the Yaris Cross wasn't a 2 model HEV lineup only? a "base" HEV G trim and TOTL HEV "S" or "V" Trim? hypothetically speaking. The Kicks being of the same segment, having a base model and mid trim that are both hybrids, with costs lower by at least 300k make the Kicks a bit more accessible to the mass market. So it's puzzling to me why it wasn't introduced to compete or take marketshare away from the Kicks by Toyota PH?

August 14th, 2023 07:37 PM #63Part of the strategy is huwag ilapag lahat variant in one launch.
There's another time to do it, lalo na medyo marami ng product launch nagawa Toyota this fiscal year.
It will cannibalize V variant if they launch it all in one go.
Also, baka boring na next year, so probably that's the time they will introduce this.

September 24th, 2023 04:56 PM #66Akala ko sa lugar lang namin to, sa ibang lugar din pala.
Napansin ko din dami ng nagbebenta raize sa marketplace.
Also, trying to look for second hand na Corolla Cross, hirap pa rin makahanap.
To think, ilang years na siya sa PH market.
May quality issues ata tong raize why naglipana na sa second hand market.

September 24th, 2023 08:17 PM #67Parang nawalan ng hype sa tao eh haha. Sa una lang sikat although in fairness, madami naman na sa kalsada na probably due to badging din. And i don't think may quality issues eto pero iirc, may recall ata dati sa safety or design ng platform/structure. Not sure lang if affected local units dito. Pero naging affected ung reputation siguro.
And regarding corolla cross, parang bihira padin makakita neto sa labas since may kamahalan plus still malakas ang demand sa 7/8-seater diesels satin.

September 25th, 2023 02:13 PM #68Sumama ako sa test drive ng Yaris Cross HEV. Okay din pala 360 camera at power tailgate with kick sensor. Tapos hindi umaabot sa 100% charge ang battery. At most nasa 50% to 60% top charge. For Lithium battery life daw. 12V battery nasa trunk. Pag pindot ng start button, hindi pala umaandar ang ICE. Uundar lang ito kung mababa na battery or kailangan ng power. Since low capacity battery, aandar din siya every now and then. Parang AC compressor. So sa drive may time na tahimik, may time na may engine noise.
Given iyong budget at use case ko, sa Raize E CVT pa din. Hehe.

September 25th, 2023 02:53 PM #69The Toyota Hybrid system has a pure EV mode but before it was limited to 20mph, if you go any higher speed then the ICE engine would start, if the Battery percentage goes below a certain level (cant remember the level) the ICE engine would start. you can basically crawl in EDSA bumper to bumper rush hour traffic until the battery level gets too low.

October 11th, 2023 08:25 PM #70Question: Tatakbo pa rin ba Hybrid Vehicle if walang battery? Yung literal na tinanggal talaga battery?
Changing the kidney grill to black is quite a stark difference. Sent from my SM-S908E using...
