    Toyota Veloz

After Avanza, Toyota PH will launch Veloz | Autoindustriya

According to a Toyota executive, the answer is yes. The Veloz is coming.

The Veloz model used to be a variant of the Avanza, but this time, the MPV is marketed as a standalone model and no longer bears the Avanza name. While they share the same platform, the Veloz distinguishes itself by having a different interior and exterior design. It is also packed with more features than the standard Avanza MPV, including Toyota Safety Sense.

finally an actual direct XL7 and Expander Cross competitor.

The previous Veloz feels more of a trim level (*edits: it actually is), barely notice its distinction from the standard Avanza unlike this one significantly replaced (and added) some panels same with what Suzuki and Mitsu did ( and honda with their BRV before discontinuing the Mobilio)

Sana maglabas din sila ng bump cars. Para even before mag drive ang bata, naka Toyota na!

I have a feeling some Rush buyers just wanted something more SUV-ish than the old Avanza and not because of its old RWD platform.

The rush looks good but I bet the owners are feeling the 70pesos per liter. LOL

I think the rush owner demographic is the most affected.

The Veloz is not trying to be an SUV though, it's basically a more stylish Avanza.
The way I see it, the Veloz is Toyota's direct Xpander competitor.

PS: The facelifted Xpander has the same tire size and has about the same ground clearance as the Xpander Cross.
