Insider: Toyota PH launching GR Sport Hilux, Fortuner this month-AUTOINDUSTRIYA.COM

While we know the Hilux GR Sport will come from Thailand, where will the Fortuner GR Sport be sourced? Remember, there are two versions of the dressed-up Fortuner; one in Indonesia and one in Thailand.

Based on what our contact shared with us, it's highly likely that we might get the one made in Indonesia. This doesn't come as a surprise since TMP does get its Fortuners from Indonesia, not Thailand. Should this be true, then the PH-spec Fortuner GR Sport might only get a limited number of exterior/interior upgrades.

Unfortunately it's not the Thai version were getting..

This is what TMP chose to bring in. From Indonesia.

With TMP planning to launch both GR Sport models soon, we can expect more GR Sport versions to arrive in the future. We won't be surprised if Toyota is now busy making a sportier version of the Innova.

oo even their Innova only has 2.4L diesel due to taxes and legislations sa engine displacement. Pero may 2.0L gas parin ata sa kanila na wala na sa atin. Sana 2.8L yung dumating na GR Fort dito.. Unlike the old 2018 TRD Sportivo na same lang sa Fortuner G.

AFAIK the Indonesian market Hiace is a 2.8L diesel sa same lang din sa atin.

May market naman din for gas engine Innova and Fort. TMP should keep the gas variants as an indent order na lang instead of phasing out completely. Sana they will bring back gas variants in the future updates.

Toyota PH adding more features for 2022 Fortuner
    - AUTOINDUSTRIYA

For starters, the automatic climate control unit (shown above) has been upgraded to a dual-zone climate control system. The new system allows occupants to set different temperature settings for the driver and front passenger. If you look to the left of the steering wheel, there's also a new button for the trunk. It's called a “kick sensor backdoor”, which is effectively a hands-free tailgate system. It makes it easier for owners to open the trunk, especially if they're carrying stuff. Pop the hood, and owners no longer have to manually put up a hood prop. The 2022 Fortuner LTD now comes standard with hood dampers, allowing easier access to the engine.

Aside from convenience, Toyota also made the Fortuner LTD is safer for the 2022 model year. Blind-spot monitoring is now standard and alerts drivers via a light on the side mirrors. To make it easier to back out of a parking spot, Rear Cross Traffic Alert is now standard as well.
