    It deserves the 5-star rating!

this would be one of the safest full-size SUVs in the market right now!

The "Small Overlap" test (targets 20-25% of the front) is done by IIHS in the USA in addition to the more common "Moderate Overlap" test (targets 40% of the front).

In the past, many vehicles that rated high in the Moderate Overlap tests rated poorly in the Small Overlap test. The Small Overlap test targets the 20-25% area just outside the chassis rails, it simulates the vehicle clipping another vehicle, a tree or a post. This explains why many new global vehicle models, specially those designed to be sold in the US have extra reinforcement that protects the footwell and A-pillar area.

This kit turns your Land Cruiser 200 into an LC 300 lookalike -AUTOINDUSTRIYA

To say that there’s a huge demand for the Toyota Land Cruiser is a (big) understatement. A couple of weeks ago, the automaker announced there’s a four-year waitlist for its flagship SUV in Japan. That means Japanese customers that ordered late will be waiting for a while.

The issue is not limited to Japan, though. Other markets also have a long waitlist, and the Philippines is included. But for current Land Cruiser owners that don't want to wait for the new model, there’s an alternate solution. Well, sort of.

If you have a Land Cruiser 200 sitting in the garage, you can contact an aftermarket company from China that can "convert" it into the new LC 300. No, we’re not kidding. The conversion kit is made by a company called GBT Bodykits, and it’s quite comprehensive.

Only person I know with an LC300 he got it cash because that was what the dealership required back in September 2021.

Toyota dealers are exploiting the short supply of the super-hot 2022 Land Cruiser to squeeze the most from their customers.

A Babbler said that when he made a reservation for a 300 series (the first model change since the 200 series was introduced 14 years ago) with a big Toyota dealership south of Manila in early 2021, he was told his unit would arrive in the first quarter this year.

When the Babbler followed up recently, he was shocked when his agent told him he could only get his prized unit if he paid P7.531 million cash.

That is 33 percent over the P5.672 million suggested retail price the Babbler signed up for.

The Babbler noted that the additional P1.859 million would have been enough to buy a new Fortuner.

The Babbler didn’t mind adding money for accessories, Land Transportation Office registration, and a three-year service voucher.

But what made the Babbler fall down his seat was the gall of the agent to ram down his throat an eight-year, P1.44 million insurance contract to be paid in lump sum.
