New cars require longer periods for plug replacement. For some turbo gas cars, it’s like 120k km change interval but each plug costs around 1k each.

i am waiting for the warning light to tell me to replace my D4d's fuel filter.

does anyone still clean, re-gap and re-install their sparking plugs?

spark plug can go 20k kms or more.. sa kia picanto ko nag palit ako after 40k kms.. yung sa toyota altis parang 20k kms corroded na yung plugs

For my FXT, Motor Image is asking 1600 for each plug but there are dealers in Banawe that sell it for 1k each. When I was in the US last year, I got a 4-pc set for 2k so big savings on my end if I will use it later on.

I don't think iridiums and platinum tipped spark plugs need regap'ing. I guess it was popular in then 90s coz of the copper/nickel spark plugs.

Average Fortuner buyer: middle manager/businessman earning 120-160k per month, ~40 yrs old

Only 5% of Forts are 4x4 so it's really the ride height, image, diesel perks, and space that people buy into.

What's The Income, Lifestyle Of A Typical Toyota Fortuner Customer?

    Yes Sir StockEngine..

300% Agree, 4cylinder or V6, Unbreakable, wag lang irresponsible pag dating sa maintenance.

no hi-tension systems.. no sparking plugs..

two reasons why gas engines are bought:
    1. cheaper showroom price than their diesel counterparts.
    2. eco-friendly emissions.
    3. mas tahimik and less vibrations (daw).

    my opinion.

dr.d, good example is the ancient toyota revo.. (7-K & 1RZ-E)

    Sir jut703..

Sobrang Rare ang 4x4 Model ng PPV based SUV na previous model, kahit anong brand pa yan, lalo kung M/T..
    A/T based, agree ako dyan..

Sana naman, pag nagbukas yung stage 3 skyway, lahat ng TOTL na 4x2 Variant, kahit anong brand yan PPV man or Pick-up..

Hindi Masama mag Break-in Period, pero kung gagawing racetrack.... No comment na ako...

    .
i used to have a diesel revo.
it was a joy to drive. the steering wheel and pedals were so very light. the transmission bite was very nice. tight turning circle. and it was hard to earn a ticket for overspeeding. heh heh
    no problems encountered.
i even found comfort and reassurance from its unique clacking engine idling sound.
well... except for the for-ordinary-bodies driver's seat. i wish they had made it wider and more comfortable.
i am still wondering, bat ko ba siya binentah...

    for timing belts,
i let the expert mechanics in the casa do it for me.
they do it better and faster than me. that's what money is for.

my current 2005 innova diesel is timing belt. i recently had it replaced in the casa, at over 120K km. i didn't want to tempt fate by waiting an additional 20+ K km for the manual-recommended mileage. hindi naman ako nahirapan. iniwan ko, binalikan the next day.
the casa had a timing belt promo at that time. hindi nagkakalayo sa banawe pricing.

apologies for the long history lesson and the trip down memory lane..
    reminiscing.
