The Gunma prefecture seems like an apt place to produce the GT-86, as the area is the iconic home of Takumi, the driver of the legendary hachi-roku from Initial D.

July 2nd, 2012 11:21 PM #222If you guys are planning to buy, the news is they are racking the price up 10% more. You know what that is math wiz? One-hundred-fricking-fifty-five-K (P 155,000). For a car you could have bought now, if you queued up properly, buy your order gets killed for some UNEXPLAINABLE REASON.
Does it feel good to pay that for something you handled professionally, and responsibly? HELL NO! Even for this car which isn't really ALL THAT.. sigh.. TMP I am dissapoint.
Maybe it's time to just buy a Z and leave these bunch of incompetent fools. Wait, they are competent! Competent inn creating profit by screwing customers!

Panindigan nalang.

Us mere mortals couldn't have been able to queue up and order properly even if we wanted to. Accdg to the SA I talked to, the 77 units were distributed among TMP's major dealers. The dealers then offered the units to their respective VIP clients who were either invited to the Subic launch or given exclusive viewing sessions. VIPs lapped up the cars and ordinary mortals are left dreaming.
Teasing with an attractive price at launch stage then increasing it the following year isn't just a Toyota trait. All car companies have done this at one point or another. Having said that, the price increase, if in that range, probably won't bother the fanbois. Just look at the buyers of that overpriced roadster called MX-5. I'm guessing that the same will hold true for the GT86. The rarer the toy, the more exclusive the perception. Pragmatists will just walk away and consider other options.

July 3rd, 2012 02:09 PM #227grabe 98 ron lang ang puwede ikarga! ang alam ko ang highest grade ng Shell 97 RON lang, so miski yun hindi puwede. Mukhang Blaze lang puwedeng ikarga dito. Hope the 86 has a feature similar to the GC that accomodates lower quality ron pag hindi magkakaroon malamang ng thread about issues sa engine knocking/stalling/hesitating.

i agree with this, kung mag rereklamo ka lang din sa gas then that just means you can't afford a sports car. go buy a vios if you're so worried about gas prices. cars like these won't be cheap to use and maintain. cost of ownership of sports cars is a lot different compared to your regular cars even if they are sold at the same price.
