Sir, I'm new to this thread. I have a 2003 Altis E variant. Does it also use timing chain instead of a timing belt? Would you happen to know when will I need to replace it?

    Thanks!

Its already timing chain (2001 model and up) and this does not need replacement unless the engine was not maintained properly. Best you can do is to have the tensioners checked if you want or hear any clatter.

Our Nissan Sentra with a timing chain is already 17 years old and up to now its running on the original chain and tensioners (105,000kms); another Sentra we had with over 150,000kms never had its tensioners or chain changed as well.
