People who go into drugs are not who they are anymore, they are no longer your son, daughter, friend, brother, sister, husband, wife, etc. They turn into something else.

+1 ako dito. Sad to say but I do know some who are so hooked on drugs that their families and friends dis-owned them, after being in and out of rehabs and jails for many years and can't seem to get rid off the addiction. But still, they need help.
Using and pushing illegal drugs are 2 totally different crimes.... but they tend to go hand in hand eventually.

DOJ set to file charges against Manny Lim, et al.
By Mike Frialde
Wednesday, April 2, 2008 The Department of Justice has recommended the filing of charges of illegal drug use and sale against the son of Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim and his two companions.
In its resolution, the DOJ through State Prosecutor Nolibien Quiambao, recommended that charges be filed against Manuel “Manny” Lim, Ronald Pascual alias Lito Hipolito and Joel Sabado for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and Section 15 (use of illegal drugs) under RA 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
According to the DOJ, Sabado, Pascual and Lim “cooperated with each other” in selling shabu to an undercover agent of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on March 14 in Sta. Cruz, Manila.
In his counter-affidavit, Lim, 44, vehemently denied the accusation against him and alleged that on March 14, he was playing at the casino at the Premier Hotel in Sta. Cruz and was approached by Pascual.
According to Lim, Pascual asked him if he was interested in buying shabu. Lim who admitted that he has been using shabu for the past two months, then asked Pascual where he could buy. He said he was pointed by Pascual to a van parked outside of the hotel.
Lim claimed that as they were walking toward the van, they met Sabado, who, according to him, was also a drug user. Sabado then joined them in going to the van. Only Lim and Sabado went inside the van where they saw two men and two women.
One of the men, said Lim showed him a plastic sachet containing shabu. He then paid P1,000 to the men and was given a change of P500. After receiving the change, Lim said he was arrested by the two men. Also arrested were Sabado and Pascual.
But the DOJ dismissed Lim’s allegations saying that he and his two companions were arrested after a legitimate buy-bust operation.
“Respondents in essence, claimed that they were merely framed-up. This claim is nothing new. This is the common and standard line of defense in most prosecution of dangerous drugs cases. It is generally rejected for it can easily be concocted but is difficult to prove,” the DOJ said.
