sir question lang... saang main power kakabit yung parklight?
kaya ba tap sa accessories yun? like if your gonna turn the key automatic on na kagad?

parang gusto ko gawin din to. thanks

Depends on the car. On the VW passat 100% sure it's the low beam itself. On other cars like the Lexus RX300 its' the high beam naman, I guess on some other models may dedicated DRL light.

Passat Low Beam vs DRL mode (notice the bulb in use is the same)

You can even open up the cluster, wala talagang ibang bulb for DRL, it's just a matter of controlling the voltage to the light.

You're right, some models have dedicated DRL just like the USDM Camry.

Sir. It might be better if you look for the diagram for the OEM DRL. Possibly to replace the wiring harness and check your fusebox. If there is an extra for DRL, it may be possible to upgrade for DRL. If you know someone or website that have the complete parts catalog or workshop manual. You can search there.

AFAIK, Canadian Corollas use their headlamps as DRL's. Don't know about the current model but past models used the high beam filament burning at less than full intensity.

Correction on the Camry. The DRL is the same bulb as the High beam. Pics of my Camry. DRL, Low beam and High beam.

Sa mga bansa/lugar na nasa upper lattitudes typically require DRL for safety reasons. Imagine at 12:00 NN parang 4:00 or 5:00 PM kung ikukumpira sa atin.

In some places in the US, requires na you turn on your headlights if you turn on your wipers.

How is it that the DRL/high beam unit show different amounts of light? Two filaments ba yung bulb for those? Or is it just in the way the lights were photographed?

    mbeige,
The DRL and highbeam use the same filament. But the DRL uses less power (typically 75%-80%).

Even if most cars are not DRL-equipped I believe it is still a good idea to run with the low-beam headlight on specially during adverse weather and while on an undivided highway. Whenever I drive long distance having my low-beam lights on serves to warn oncoming vehicles and pedestrians of my approach.

mag one year na by the end of the month iyong nasa fd (courtesy of gary q) and hindi pa naman namatay iyong battery maski tapos na iyong warranty ng batt (due for replacement na din pala siya hehe).
