Police scored a major hit against carjacking groups this week, following the arrest of a suspected carjacker and the recovery of seven vehicles in Pampanga.

Inspector Joselito Quila of the Philippine National Police's Highway Patrol Group Central Luzon said they are now tracking down the suspect's colleagues.

"(Kahapon) may nahuli kaming personality, carnapper siya. Four days ago may kinarnap siyang Honda, pinasa niya sa Macabebe. Ang Quezon City at Macabebe police nag-follow up, positive doon at voluntary nakipagugnayan ang tenant," Quila said in an interview on dzBB radio.

Quila did not immediately identify the suspected carjacker, saying follow-up operations are still ongoing.

He would only say that after Monday's arrest, they found six more suspected carjacked vehicles in Pampanga.

Of the seven vehicles, only one had been identified by its owner, he added.

Quila said their initial investigation showed the gang the arrested suspect belonged to would take orders from a financier on what type and model of vehicle to take.

He said the recovered vehicles were to be brought to Camp Olivas in Pampanga where the owners can identify the vehicles. — RSJ, GMA News
Pupunta pa sa Camp Olivas to identify the vehicles?
Bakit hindi na lang sa Camp Crame dalhin?
Hindi ba ma-identify sa chasis body then trace sa LTO yung mga owners?
