those who are familiar with this area know how fast the canal water rises tuwing malakas ang ulan

kaya na-delay ang opening niyan they had to solve the flooding problem. nag dagdag sila ng pumps

before the underpass opened i saw with my own eyes yung baha sa underpass

Did it occur to you na baka ang expected cost nyan e P500M+ and December 2012 ang forecasted completion? And kaya si Ciriaco Corp. and nakakuha ng contract is because they were the lowest bidder na kinaya nilang gawin yung project at a cost of just P430M and finish it earlier than December?

Did it occur to you na before the DPWH puts out the sign like that, Contracts are signed and agreed upon already?

The ceiling for bidding must have been P500M+ and project should be completed by December 2012. That's why I said kaya si Ciriaco nakakuha ng contract. They can do it (and they did) at a lower cost and at a faster completion time.

Araneta Avenue) and Quezon Avenue Interchange Project in Barangay Sto. Domingo and Tatalon, Quezon City on Friday (September 28, 2012). ...The road project involves the construction of a depressed underpass with a length of 440 lineal meters and 330 lineal meters approaches along Quezon Avenue including the installation of three (3) submersible pumps with individual capacity of pumping out 277 liters per second back up by a power house with generating set and motor circuit control to operate depending on the intensity of the rain. The provision of water cisterns beneath the underpass with enough holding capacity and the construction of reinforced concrete box and pipe culverts will also help manage flooding. Designed to improve traffic flow at the intersection of Quezon Avenue and C-3 (G. Araneta Avenue) and reduce pollution load by lessening gas emissions during traffic gridlock, the project also covers the widening of Mariblo Bridge, improvement of service roads, and provision for street lighting, pavement markings, and traffic signs. Hehehe may ganyan talagang pinoy. Kahit anong gawin, mali pa rin. Kung baga, wala ng ginawang tama. Parang ang daming na contribute sa ating society. Kumbaga sa Pilipinas, walang dapat ipagpasalamat. Sana ay umayos pa ang infrastructure natin ng hindi tayo mapag iwanan. Dapat din na medyo may political will pagdating sa public transportation dahil sobrang dami talaga ng jeep at bus sa daan. Mai-aayos naman yan e, basta may sistema ang public transportation at hindi sarili muna ang iniisip.

dont you think its not the infrastructure's design problem but the lack of discipline on PUVs? lahat naman ng infrastructures natin eh walang problema kung discipline mga PUVs

yup, yesterday i passed a jeepney and a bus picking up passengers at the island before the underpass. ginawa na nilang stasyon yung isang lane kaya naging 1 lane na lang yung underpass. dapat sa mga ganyan na puv drivers sinasampolan ng firing squad. sayang lang gastos ng gobyerno kung aabusuhin lang naman nila at hindi susunod sa traffic rules.
