July 28th, 2014 10:39 AM #336Sir Chronicle, you mean po ba na mas marami lukot yung sa ertiga? just wondering po kung gumana nmn ang airbag nya. Per specs kasi monocoque body sya kaya marami crample area para daw ma protect more passenger inside.

Almost any vehicle that is broadsided or T-boned will exhibit extensive body damage. Compared to a frontal impact, vehicles in general are very vulnerable to side impact because there's not much bracing in that immediate area other the the B-pillar (attached to the floor and roof) and the doors. There's also not much room for a crumple zone to absorb the impact... it's just you and the door. Pricier cars may have side and curtain airbags that can offer additional protection. That said, some cars will perform better and some, worse, that's why NCAP includes side impact tests.

July 28th, 2014 01:10 PM #340Another difference between the GL and GLX is that the rear door of the GL can only be opened by a lever below the driver seat much like a lever when opening the trunk of a sedan unlike the GLX, wherein it has its own door handle no need to go to the driver seat to open it. Its an advantage when coming from the grocery you just unlock with the keyless entry fob and use the rear doorhandle to unlatch the tailgate.
