All-new Suzuki APV: Living room on wheels

Suzuki Philippines launched yesterday the all-new Suzuki APV (all-purpose-vehicle) which was designed for a mobile lifestyle. The designers were guided by the principle of "mobile living" which refers to a motor vehicle’s capability to recreate a house’s cozy, pleasant ambiance while cruising along.

In the all-new Suzuki APV, the designers made the otherwise confined passenger cabin a living habitat in which people do not merely travel but also rest, unwind, even interact. Such a vehicle characteristic is crucial at a time when a big portion of people’s time is spent sitting in traffic every day.

The all-new Suzuki APV is a spacious and modern family wagon for eight passengers that can be considered "a living room on wheels."

When viewed from any angle, the Suzuki APV looks every inch like the space-age version of current and old wagons that possessed a boxy styling motif. Dynamic lines and curves are employed on the vehicle’s outer sheet metal to give it a stylish on-road presence.

Despite a compact-looking body that measures 4,155 millimeters in length, 1,655 mm in width and 1,860 mm in height, the Suzuki APV offers minibus-like interior dimensions that guarantee unparalleled spaciousness in its class. With both third-row seats folded, the Suzuki APV even provides a rear cargo space of 714 liters – more than enough for the entire family to take all the necessary personal effects with them.

Whether the trip is to a golf course or to a far-flung beach, the Suzuki APV is up to the challenge of conveying its passengers and their golf bags or vacation luggage.

To ensure passenger convenience and comfort, Suzuki has equipped the APV with rear air conditioning that has individual controls strategically positioned overhead; center armrests for both second- and third-row seats; foldable front- and second-row seats that form a bed-like surface; and other thoughtful items like a support grip for the front passenger, driver-side pocket and integrated bottle holders in front.

Powered by a 16-valve gasoline engine, the Suzuki APV has key safety features designed to protect a family’s most prized possession, which is the life of every member. The Suzuki APV’s body construction, for instance, benefits from Suzuki’s TECT (Total Effective Control Technology) assembly process that enables the vehicle body to direct collision-impact energy away from the occupants.

The Suzuki APV’s front part, or nose, acts as an insulation or buffer to dissipate the force of the impact. Complementing this technology are strong side-impact beams that resist deformation in the event of a crash.

For security, the Suzuki APV has remote keyless entry with hazard-lamp answer-back function as well as central door locking to safeguard the passengers and their belongings whether they’re inside or outside the vehicle.
