September 18th, 2018 02:11 PM #21In my experience kasi, pati labor walang charge. When I've had things checked, greased, replaced, basta under warranty, kahit may drive test pa. Nung nag check engine light ako, the diagnosis alone would have cost 1-2k but no charge daw since covered naman. Kaya I make sure to just tip the mechanics. I sometimes also bring them food. haha.
Pro tip na rin 'yan. Cultivate a relationship with your casa. It'll do you wonders and save you lots of headaches. Kahit nga sa PMS ko may mga hindi nilalagay yung head mechanic sa list of charges eh or mas mababang service charge nilalagay nya.

September 18th, 2018 02:43 PM #23Mmm... yes.
Mahirap din kasi pumunta na lang basta basta sa mga mechanic na not being too knowledgable sa vehicles. You can be really taken "taken for a ride" minsan. Listo and sharp ka lagi dapat diyan.
Pwedeng pasama ka sa may alam, or ask around muna din so you can make smarter choices.
Then when you visit, ask clearly:
-whats wrong;
-what's going to be done;
-why is it necessary; and (ultimately)
-how much will everything cost.
Pag di ka sa satisfied, pa 2nd or 3rd opinion ka pa elsewhere.
I usually slam the casas (di kami bilib), pero may nagging feeling ako here, hindi talaga nagkaintindihan.

September 19th, 2018 09:44 AM #27i wouldn't grease my belt or any lubrication, at all.
i'd look for the cause, which usually has nothing to do at all with the belt.
squeaking belt? after going thru a flood or big puddle?
that's "usually normal", if at all. na-dulas lang ang belt dahil na-basa.
just tighten it, if at all.
if the sound appears upon starting the engine from cold, then disappears a few minutes afterward, i would bet on a bearing.
the 700 bucks was probably the cost of the lubricating agent "that they used".Last edited by dr. d; September 19th, 2018 at 09:49 AM.

September 19th, 2018 10:19 AM #28Nagstart nga nung linusong ko sa baha. Hindi nag aappear yung ingay sa simula so hindi bearing. Umiingay lang hindi naman masyado maingay pag long drive na or mainit na.
