look at the registration.. if the engine number starts with g16b then it's 1.6

the first gen grand vitara is 2.0

Mine is 2001 2.0L GV, mga 7-8L/km.

    sir billy,

i suggest a simpler and cheaper solution to making your vit have a cooler ac by reading this:

    <url>http://4x4ph.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=67455</url>

sa vitara club of the philippines na forum, some members "condemned" the heaters of their vit by blocking off the heater inlet and outlet from the heater core. i think it would cost around only 1000plus php in your trusted ac shop. and the feedbacks are very positive. i might have this done on my vit siguro next summer
please read the link i posted above for more info and explanations

    Thanks Sir Marvin,
Pinabypass ko na yung heater core, last year. Thanks

yup bypass the heater core .

and baka po sa 134a refrigerant ang problema. some shops use "fake" refrigerant. try going to denso have them flush and vacuum the system, then charge it will the right 134a refrigerant.

nangyari yan sa hiace namin, my dad wanted to try the shop near our house, mas mura daw kasi. eventually di rin lumamig ng maayos dahil:

    1. baligtad ang pagkakabit ng in and out tubes ng evaporator.
    2. over charged ang freon, and peke pa(mabaho yung amoy ng 134a freon na fake)
    3. they also installed the wrong expansion valve
