I bought mine last week. 1.3 liter manual transmission is the only available variant so far here in China. It is not even the new 1.3 liter VVT engine. Changan Suzuki installed the old 1.3 liter 86bhp 16 valves DOHC engine instead of the new 1.3 liter 90bhp VVT engine. I didn’t mind though because I really liked the styling. I actually wanted the 1.3 liter Honda Fit (Jazz) but when I saw the Swift and test driven it, it made me change my mind . I once parked my Swift beside a Fit, stepped out and then checked if I made the right choice, I certainly did.
The top-of-the-line 1.3L Swift here has front dual airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags, and front and rear door curtain airbags. It is also equipped with automatic airconditioning. Price is around Php 640,000.00 (from RMB to USD then to Peso).
It is very comfortable and easy to drive. I haven’t tried going more than 100 KPH yet as I have to wait till I get an odometer reading of 3000 kms. before I try reaching the 165 KPH maximum speed. The average gas consumption according to the brochure is 5 liters per 100 kilometers (20 kilometers/liter) at 60 KPH speed. I get a reading of 18 to 22 kilometers/liter when I drive on an expressway.
Will post some pics soon.
