    I think that's too much. First, it will wear out the middle part of the tire faster. Second, it is more subject to blowouts or punctures, especially under heavy load. I suggest that your friend just follow the recommended pressure, which is usually at the lower edge of the driver's door.

    I use nitrogen...

    34 psi. After 6 months it drops to 32 psi which is the comfy setting!!!

    Compressed air
    30 psi.

    For my hiace using 185/14 Federal Maha Radial with 8 ply rating been using 40 psi front and rear, a little hard riding but i do carry some heavy stuff most of the time, its not been wearing out at the middle, just even in tire wear all around. And for my corolla, using Yokohama 185 / 65 / 14 306 radial, i use 32 psi all around, not hard riding at all, and even wear too.
