that the engine mount sometimes wears out faster than industry standard..? and it makes a peculiar sound when it gets worn..?
yes, doc, i agree. i had a car like that. i think it's the engine support. it could also be the ball joint.

bro baludoy, please update us here what's wrong with it if the problem is already resolved. thank you.

Symptoms of engine support should be vibration especially in cold starting.

Engine support is such a common problem of the FD that if that was the culprit, madali lang ayusin and any repair shop would know to look at that first.

in my case ganun din, may kalampag din when driving slow then hit a humps. initially i thought it was suspension and ball joints and i replaced them immediately with my trusted mechanic. pero andun pa din yung kalampag. Then i went to suspension specialist and found out my engine mounts are broken. i ask kung ilan dapat palitan, sabi skin yung 4 daw. pero di ako naniwala so ng second opinion ako sa gas station only to found out that only 1 is broken. so after mapalitan yung mount nawala na rin annoying kalampag.

one problem in diagnosing via the internet, is the difficulty or in-accuracy of the description of the problem... sound... etc.

    i finally licked my problem.

apparently it was just a case of re-tightening the steering mounting gearbox bolts. now everything is fine and dandy once again

fit into the housing. They welded the pad's edges to make it fit snugly. And poof! No more rattle!

Problem solved for only 350 pesos. Unfortunately I also spent 2.2k for new stab links, but that's part of the learning. Thanks to all those who chimed in their suggestions. Unknown Kalampag (Not Suspension-related)🏼

Bro sorry just read this now. Replied to your PM as well.

Just to add to what I told you, while Cruven Makati was able to remedy my problem, their diagnosis was much much quicker simply because I told them where to look. With that, I'd advise you to try to single out the problem and be as detailed when describing when your problems occur, and be sure to make it show on a test drive. Be more observant when you drive your car on a daily basis so you can tell them exactly where the sound seems to be coming from.
