June 27th, 2010 08:57 AM #103[quote=elp;1442759]In my experience.........Bridgestone Potenza RE030 ang sulit na tire for me.
During wet & dry driving, wala ako masabi, makapit talaga sya, na running-flat ko na rin sya for 1km, pero ayos parin after it was vulcanized.
Bridgestone Potenza's a great tire. I asked the new Bridgestone outlet in Alabang about their warranty. 4 years warranty from factory defects. Hmmm... sounds good on paper. US tire warranties run from 4 to 6 years.
Michelin tires of nearby MINERVA Tires are given a 1 year warranty from defects only.
Also, beware of MINERVA (Alabang, Macapagal and Muntinlupa) tire outlets !!! They stock up on tires, maybe to take advantage of price increases (like the gasoline stations). Then they sell tires that are several years old on the shelf. I should know, they passed on a brand new (but 4 year-old stock) of Michelin XM-1 to me.
I didn't know the TIN (Tire Identification Number) by the US Dept.of Transportation then. (Here's one educational link on tires: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=11).
When the new (old) tire cracked after 1 year, (the wife of the owner) Mrs Espeleta asked for original receipts, said it will take up to 1 month if you surrender the damaged tire, blah, blah, blah.
In short, don't bother me because I don't care about you since I already got your money.
Well, the nearby Bridgestone outlet gave me a 4 year warranty on a set of Potenzas. Plus, better facilites, unlike the greedy MINERVA owners' run-down, smelly shop.
So, shame on unscrupulous businessmen who have no concept of integrity, fair play and customer service! Beware of all the MINERVA Tire outlets - the owners are as honest & helpful as they appear (take a good look at their appearance).

July 2nd, 2010 03:12 PM #104Nakabili din ako sa Minerva ng 4 year old tire recently, Michelin XM1. (I went there due to good feedbacks). So okey kumuha ako ng 4 to replace all my tires. When they installed one, nag check ako, 2106 ang code. I checked with sales clerk, okey naman daw yun kasi 6 yrs ang warranty. (Is this really true???
Another not so good part is their handling of mags. Narinig ko na lang hinahataw nila during installation of tires on mags. Naalis pala yung small center cap (for the center hole), and they're putting it back or trying to correct it.
Well, I'm still a newb driver and owner. Lesson learned.
