January 23rd, 2008 10:33 PM #263Guys, from 195/55/15, can I change to 195/60/15? car is a lancer. I just thought of gaining more comfort by changing. Also, which 195/60 series would you recommend for daily driving?
thanks!

195/55/15=23.44" tire diameter
195/60/15=24.21"
185/60/15=23.74"
If you increase to the bigger tires(195/60/15) your speedometer will be slightly of calibration, at 100km/h you are actually going 103.2 km/h which is really not much. If the tires fit it wouldn't hurt to make the change.

January 24th, 2008 03:28 PM #265I am using 205 55R 16 tires on my car and used Pirelli P6000s. I find the ride too rough, and my tires are due for replacement anyway. I use Tein Sports Springs and Bilstein Shocks.
Which tires for my size will help minimize noise and maximize ride comfort?
So far I've heard of
Pirelli P Dragon - 3580
Yokohama A-Drive - 4000
Dunlop LM703 - 4250-4400
Goodyear Eagle Ventura - 4550
Bridgestone MY-01 Sports Tourer - 5240.
If you know of other brands, kindly list them too, and the price if possible.
Also do any of you know which brands sell 205 50 R17 tires? Thanks!

sir, mukhang hindi nabawasan ng mga Techs ng Toyota ang gulong during the PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection). kaya mataas pa din ang tire pressure... well, thats if they do a Pre Delivery Inspection!! (not sure in the PI, pero dito sa US, mandatory talaga ang bawat Dealerships na mag perform ng PDI on every new car, kahit hindi pa sila nabebenta).
also, the reason why most new cars have over-inflated tires, is so that the tires could stretch a little bit and settle its bead to the wheels. normal lang yun sa mga bagong kotse, specially if its fresh from the factory. but when the new car is delivered to the Dealerships, the tires pressure has to be deflated to their proper tire pressure.
I know this since that I used to be a Tech for a Hyundai dealership here in Cali
aite, peace.

January 26th, 2008 09:30 AM #269If your car originally came with that tire size from the manufacturer, that is the correct mileage.
If it's not then you have to compensate for the difference in tire size.
Using an oversize tire actually adversely affects fuel economy, particularly if you do a lot of stop&go driving.

dapat sir 195/55/15 ang gulong ninyo ng di masyado hirap umarangkada dahil galing kayo sa stock na 185/65/14, syang din yung mga 1/2- 1 liter ng gas mga extra 7-10 kms din yun sa isang full tank nyo, ganyan din kasi sakin dati inarbor ko yung g-mags galing sa 1.8G na altis and ang stock niya is 195/60/15, maganda tignan dahil tama yung laki ng gulong at saktong sakto sa lovelife pero ramdam ko yung delay sa pag arangkada. my friend na same situation ng syo ay nagpalit din sa 195/55/15 for the same reason.
