October 15th, 2003 03:36 PM #22kuroy, 11K and nothing happened! oh sh**t. san autocenter pala yan. how they conclude na kailangan na talagang palitan yung OE rotor mo? baka nga mas lalong mag squeak yan nung pinalitan ng rotor(is it same OEM rotor). bago ka nagpalit ng rotor na-check ba ng mechanic mo yung break repair kit? if talagang may tagas dun walang connection yung sa rotor mo.
abt caliper bka mahigpit lang.
sad to say meron pa rin squeak sound yung akin. hayaan ko na lng until mawala. imagine even CASA lang nagawa all they say was palit daw ako ng brake pads.

October 16th, 2003 10:25 AM #24Sounds like you've all tried the fixes and nothing worked. Maybe this will work for any of you who have this annoying problem. I posted earlier about spraying anti brake squeel compound on the back of the pads...well, go further by putting some kind of rubber padding on all areas touching the caliper (both pads). The compound will serve as the adhesive to hold them in place. Any kind of gasket material (except cork) around 1-3 mm thick will do. Anything thicker will work but will make your brake feel mushy. I've done this to one of my friend's jeep with a persistent squeel, it's been quiet since then. Hope this helps

Sa likod ng brake pads, especially 'yong parts where it contacts the calipers (not the rotors) so you will still need to take both pads off the calipers to spray the compound on (sticky pag natuyo).

October 17th, 2003 01:59 PM #29It's critical na the compound is between the pad and the caliper, it serves as the dampening material. There's no harm in trying to just spray it on there while they're attached but it will be hard to reach the inboard pad. Also, make sure it doesn't get on the rotors. Good luck.
