Just when I'm almost convinced to try RP for my next oil change, comes this new development. Any rebuttal from those who have tried, tested and proven RP to be good as advertised, so to speak? (sorry for the "rebuttal" term, i'm not in favor of debates, just friendly and helpful discussions po.)
Btw, Castrol din gamit ko sa previous oil change ko, my ride is a '96 Corolla GLi A/T. Gusto ko sana nga i-try tong RP, esp. now na may promo ang speedyfix (fully synthetic oil for the price slightly higher than mineral oil change, tempting di ba!) kahit na tga-batangas ako, dadayuhin ko mandaluyong. heh-heh.

re: bitog, it is an excellent forum for oil. there are lots of pros and cons for all of the different oil manufacturers. amsoil,mobil1 and castrol all have their own following of haters on the board too. for RP it's mostly the UOA on oil that has been used over 10k miles. we really don't recommend that type of usage lalo na in manila since the pollution and wear is much different to that in other countries. most of the UOA's comming out now show marked improvement over the ones in the past 2-3 years.
if you actually go through the site, most complaints are about the price. but in the philippines, RP is priced very competetively if not lower than the competition like mobil, valvoline, castrol, etc for their full syn line. most RP products are 2/3rds of the price lang plus offer a complete lineup of viscosities.
you also have good feedback like

anyway, it really is up to the end user to find what is best for him and his engine. we've been using the oil extensively over the past year and have had positive results in all of the people that have tried it.
goodluck deciding!

March 11th, 2011 08:31 AM #136in some cases you can bring your own oil to casa and retain the warranty. it depends though on the casa. better ask them to be sure.

March 12th, 2011 07:14 PM #140Good evening po. We mistakenly put 15w-40 mineral oil into our 2.0 Subaru (2007 model). Plan to change this asap. Any recommendation on a good replacement oil? I usually change oil every 4 months or so, kahit low mileage lang ang nabyahe. TIA.
subjective talaga. for me the stonic still looks ok especially the ones with updated KIA logo. even...
