Here is what i suggest you do.
The shock and suspension parts are not much of a humongous problem. Just have the engine done and drive away towards a Goodyear servitek. Then ask them to diagnose the parts you said have problems. This service is free btw.
Then tell them you have limited budget and will source the items then return to them for installation.
Buy these parts outside. LVC gives great prices sa suspension.
Shocks get kyb brand. Bushings get made in japan replacement parts. It should be way below the quote your given.
Noow return to servitek and have the items they suggested to replace. Have it aligned and go.
Lastly never go back to the talyer you went to.
Good luck. This is from an ex casa and goodyear high performance center service/parts manager ;)

I usually go to Zee Carplus for my suspension replacement/problem. I bought car parts from banawe or fertes then go straight ahead to Zee for the installation or sometimes I bought items from them to be installed with shop warranty.

Mga Sir, gusto ko lang itanong may ipagkakaiba ba sa height ng ride mo kapag naka ordinary shocks ka vs short strut shocks? currently kasi im using lowering springs + stock shocks, masyado matagtag at mababa, now im thinking of using again my stock springs + short strut shock absorber, medyo bababa rin ba ang ride? if yes, mga ilang finger gap ang mababawas?

The shock mount is on top of the shock absorber. If you are near the Banawe area, try also checking Wheelers Suspension Haus along N. Roxas st.
Hard to say of that is the cause as suspenion noises may be caused by several factors aI the mechanic really has to look at it and best for him to show and point it out at you visually of possible.

September 4th, 2016 07:35 AM #278need help guys/gals. my front and rear tires are hitting the fenders. my front tires already gut slices in its wall (but not deep enough to make it go flat) and my rear tires are squeaking everytime there are passengers at the back. now, I am planning to have it properly diagnose it at Cruven Fairview (some people say they are good) but I am already planning to change my shock absorbers (KYB brand, gas type).
Questions:
1. without Cruven's diagnosis, will changing the shocks solve my problem? because I know someone who can change it for less
2. are bushings also to consider?
3. how much are KYB shock absorbers (gas type) and KYB shock mounts? (my right shock mount is showing some tear, I am also planning to replace them both)
thanks! my car is an A/T AE101. At sana yung mga tindahang maipagbibigay alam niyo ay nasa o malapit sa Novaliches at Fairview.
