January 20th, 2009 02:16 PM #1Had my ride checked at Servitek Timog. Here's the diagnosis and quotation I got:
Diagnosis - Replacement of upper ball joint
Labor - 1,500
Part/s - upper ball joint (2) - 5,200 (original)
Mitsubishi Fairview quoted me 1,600 (approx) for each upper ball joint which makes the total just merely 3,200 (approx). That's a whooping 2k difference .
Bought 555 Japan from Mit-Parts Banawe for 1,100 (2) and had it replaced from friendly neighbor mechanic for 300
Savings on Labor = 1,200
Savings on Parts = 4,100
To Servitek Timog, shape up!!!

I guess standard yata kasi ang labor sa lahat ng Servitek, they have their list of items of various jobs and the corresponding amount.
But for the parts . . . am not sure on where they get their suppliers.
