good day ho sa inyo.

Mahaba daw itong shafting na ito and medyo mahal saka baka wala daw makuha brand new puro surplus.

Baka may nakasubok na mag-palit nito or experienced the same problem? Salamat.

Nasubukan ko na masiraan ng steering shaft, nasira yung rubber that dampens the steering column from rattles from the suspension. Maaring ito ang problema mo. medyo mahal nga ito. sa galant 86 it cost 2.5k already its not worth paying for. What I did was weld the 2 parts together. pwede pa naman idismantle thru the collapsible pin and dun sa cross joint. so ok lang.

Pacheck mo mabuti kung ito ang problema mo. kung nagtitipisd ka pwede mo welding. The noise is just the tip of the iceberg later on you will experience malikot na manibela mo. Kaya act now.

had the exact same problem sa gen 1 pajero ko.

gastado na yung parang bushing na foam sa steering column nyan. good thing i was able to get a whole steering assembly sa US (gearbox, coupling, column, pati steering wheel kaso beige) nung last trip ko. just replaced the old column with the surplus one i got from one of the "junk" yards in LA. ok na.

AFAIK mahirap kumuha ng foam bushing na yan. try calling 199 Offroad House (tel # 2536450) look for ronald. i know nagagawan nila ng paraan yan. parang palit ng mas matigas na material...medyo matrabaho lang at matagal siguro

    hope this helps.

I think woodfire bought the whole shaft in Capalangan for Php 11,500. But that included the steering column and the controls.

Btw, hindi pa part ng collapsible steering column yung shaft na yun, that's why it slides.

If you weld it up, the steering column will get driven into your chest/face area in the event of a crash. Not very good.

Otep is right. Welding it would defeat the design purpose (hence the word "collapsible).

Try to PM Mr. Kimpoy. He was the one who guided me to Capalangan. I'm sure Kim will assist you in any which way he can.

Your best bet is to buy the whole steering shaft assembly. it includes the lower coupling, mid and upper shaft (where the sealed bearings are located), and the steering wheel.
