Just had my tires rotated at a car place along Libis and I had the tires from the back balanced before they put them up front. I was watching them when they did the balancing and I'm pretty sure they didn't use a lot of weights to balance the two tires.

I was surprised when they were charging me 200 pesos for wheel weights. I tried to ask for a discount on the weights charge but they didn't budge.

Is that really the going rate for tire weights now? Was I ripped off or was I charged fairly?

The unbalanced readings for one tire were 35-30 and the other was 15-10.

I hope someone can shed some light on this. Thanks!

I paid roughly P200+ for the weights and labor at Servitek Capitolyo before (two tires).

When i buy new tires at some shops, I spend less than P100 for the weights (free balancing labor).

You should've asked them how many units they used, and asked how much is one unit.

Since these items are priced by piece/unit, the charges will depend on how many units they used on your wheels.

You're lucky if they use only a piece or two.

The last time I had my wheels balanced, I had to pay 25/pc.

Some shops offer free wheel balancing when you buy new tires from them.
