Guys, familiar ba kayo sa procedure na ito? I was offered by Cruven Fairview to have my Catch plate lowered instead of buying lowering springs. Parang ibababa daw ung catch plate para maging lowered, and pag ayaw na daw ng lowered pwede daw ibalik sa dati. Is it advisable ba? any consequences kung ipapagawa ko ito?

nasubukan ko na yan dati, ok naman... ride is still comfortable compared to cutting the actual springs.
however, make sure na matibay pagkakawelding nyan.... pwedeng kumalas yan.
i would still prefer getting lowering springs though, maski second hand..... so the integrity of the structure would still be there.

Short Stroke conversion
Parang ganyan ang gagawin pero sa case mo ibabalik yung catchplate pero mas mababa na. Kapag ayaw mo na, bili ka lang ng bagong shocks and balik na ulit sa dati. Cons niyan, everytime na magpapalit ka ng shocks (in case gusto mo lowered), kailangan ipaulit mo yung modification sa bagomg shocks.

if you look at it from a trigonometric point of view... pina-higsi mo yung isang paa ng triangle.. baka may significant effect sa vehicle suspension geometry..
hihigsi nang kauni ang magiging distance between the left and right wheels..
but i suppose, if it's small enough, baka hindi na feel..
will the difference be more "palpable" with front wheel drives than rear wheel drives..?

March 4th, 2015 06:38 PM #7Not advisable, dati medyo believer ako niyan. But when i saw one na kumalas ang catch plate, iwas na ko. Hassle yan. Lowering springs ka na lang or coilovers.

As much as possible I stay away from anything that involves cutting or welding when it comes to my car. Lowering springs na lang brad. Coil overs kung kaya ng budget.

Thanks mga Boss, nagtanong rin ako sa mga car clubs, madami rin gumagamit yun nga lang, drop daw talaga ng sobra, I decided to look for lowering springs na lang, 1 inch drop lang naman gusto ko.

Hindi ba masama mag welding sa shocks dahil baka masira yun o-ring pag nainitan.
