Guys, just wanted to get opinions before installing kyb gas shocks (excel g ata) on my pickup. may improvement ba talaga sa comfort at ride?

or would the stock ones (they're fine, pero matagtag lang talaga yung ride) and my money be better spent on something else... like an amp and a woofer?

KYB is no good then? but would busted shocks cause "lowering" of the front of the truck?

Mas mababa na kasi tong auto ko compared to its contemporary (non-trekker) rangers, may dip rin sa harap. already had the suspension checked when the engine was calibrated, and they said it was fine

Here's my rule of thumb for KYB's.

If your car originally had German brand shocks like Bilstein, Boge, Sachs, etc then KYB will stand for Keep Your Bilsteins

Other than that most Japanese cars could use these KYB's to good effect.

I'm not sure of the brand for OEM shocks (for the ranger, that is).

I think the general opinion, aside from one (si sir snowbound) is "don't go for KYB unless the shocks are busted"

    am I right?

Well, the locally available KYBs are IMO a bit stiffer than most OEM shocks.

I doubt if you'll get a better ride with KYBs against your OEM shocks.
