brake pads lang yan. almost all brake pads, whether for disk brakes or drum brakes, have a metal strip that is positioned at the same point as the minimum allowable pad thickness. when it comes to contact with the metal of the brake disk or drum it will make a squeeling sound. that serves as a warning to the driver that the brake pads are worn and needs replacement. replace it immediately since if you keep on using it there will be 2 consequences. 1, your brake disk or drum will get scratched by this metal strip. you will then need to reface the disk or drum, or worse, replace it also. 2nd, a worn brake pad can cause you an accident due to brake failure, and you surely don't want that to happen.

drum brake ba doc? yung mga drum brakes meron automatic adjustment yan (esp toyota vehicles) which automatically adjusts the brake shoes adjusting nut when backing up. maybe it has adjusted the brake shoes to the point where the metal strip is just touching the drum surface. it will not sound yet when going forward since the brake will adjust back to its position before backing. ang siste kasi pag nasa halfway yung adjustment ratchet between 2 teeth of the adjusting mechanism e bumabalik ulit dun sa dating setting, so it squeels only when in reverse but not when moving forward.
