thanks for the feedback sir actually ang plan ko talaga is to put 195/60, and i was choosing between dunlop and bridgestone. medyo out of the budget na yung 2 brands for me,so when i checked the champiro, makakakuha pa pala ako ng mas malapad (205/55), at mas mura pa.

mas ok siguro ang quality ng gajah compared to nankang and federal, which are both taiwan(or china) made brands..

    again thanks sir

rodreyes, if you are going to get 55 series tires, you need to downgrade your rims from 16" to 15". otherwise your speedometer readings, fender clearances and stance will be all wrong.

    hope this helps.

whoah! im a little bit confused now. Im a newbie when it comes to cars, so can you further expound on what you've just said?

Can you also recommend what tire specs should i buy in case i decide to keep the 16 inch rim? Can i get 210, 50 series? Thanks in advance.

I don't know if this has been discussed here but I'd post it anyway.

When buying tires, check the date of manufacture. Tires usually have a service life of 4 to 5 years from date of manufacture, pudpod or not.

The date of manufacture is usually "branded" on the sidewalls. Look for an oval shaped mark with 4 digits "branded" (parang itinatak using a hot branding iron) into it e.g. (1207) . The first two digits correspond to the week of the year (there are 52 weeks in a year) while the last two digits correspond to the year of manufacture. In this case, (1207) means the tire was manufactured on the 12th week of year 2007 or between March 19 to 25, 2007.

So if your tires right now have a mark thay say (XX02), you might want to consider replacing them now, pudpod or not hehehe. But then again, car lovers like us don't usually take that long to use up our tires. Unless of course you have a lot of vehicles that you only use a certain car once a month even if you drive everyday hehehe.

    Hope this helps.

    rod,

There are no 210s... Tire sizes are typically 195, 205, 215 and 225 for your size of rim and application.

For the GLXi, 205/50R16 is probably the biggest you want to go in 16". 205/55 or 195/55 may not fit. But the 205/50s might rub... better check your clearances.

My car has bigger wheelarches than yours, and 195/55s barely fit (from what I've seen on a friend's car)... and they'll rub on the fenders, which is bad for tire longevity.

195/50s will give you some extra comfort, but that's probably as far as you can go.

M54Powered is right... if you want 55s to fit, you have to downgrade to 15" rims.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

afaik, R16 is the only number you need to remember to be sure/safe. surf the websites of tire manufacturers to check what series are available for size R16.

Thanks. I have learned a lot from your post and from researching topics on tire upgrading. My dillemma right now is to whether to downgrade to 15 inch tires, sacrificing appearance for comfort. If ever i decide to upgrade, how much salvage value would i get from my 16 inch BBS rims?
