Factors could be the way the L300 is driven given it's a utility vehicle and possibly the light truck or van tyre model isn't as good as the passenger tyre model. Even branded tyre manufacturers have lemon model tyres (my all-time favorite is the Goodyear Eagle NCT3).

Agree bro, which is why it's hard to discount one brand just because of one tire model. Heck, even with the same tire type, there are flukes - the Dunlop LM702 was pretty awful, but its successors, the LM703 and 704 turned out quite okay. Same with your NCT3 example, the succeeding NCT5 was decent.

I've no experience with Achilles SUV tires, but the passenger tires are surprisingly decent.
