on and off resistance when turning steering wheel either left or right (from dead center to full right or left).

no buzzing sound on the pump. fluid ok. belt tension ok.

plus this "tog" sound when steering left or right.

im guessing (for now) it's a steering component or a suspension problem. not the power steering assembly.

could still be wrong though so kindly comment. need inputs. TIA

try unloading the suspension (lift the tires off the ground and support the front of the car with jackstands) and turn the steering wheel left to right and back. first with the engine off, next with the engine running. this way you eliminate and narrow possibilities down.

The same thing exactly before with my friend's '01 Adventure, it is the steering component, because he have also checked all the bushing and still the "tog" sounds did not disappear.

by steering component you mean the rack and pinion? what did your friend do to his car to eliminate the problem?

We had the same problem with our Galant VR last year (intermittent resistance when turning). We rebled the PS system (all hoses were okay). On the tok sound, it may be tie-rod/rack end related. Best to get down and dirty and listen to where it's coming from.
