Get the facelifted 2011-2012 Subaru Forester SH model ... you can tell the difference by looking at the grill, the aircon controls and the instrument cluster ... the facelift also uses the newer FB20 engine which is what the current Forester also uses ... common problem with Subaru is the radiator ... you can have it serviced outside of dealer at Fusion R ...

I see sir. Do you think worth it pa yung cost ng pre owned subi, kahit dahil pa dun sa added cost ng repair? Kala ko kasi rare yung mga faults dun sa pagkagawa ng forester for asian market. Unlike dun sa north america na forester, engine problems such as blown gasket naman ang usual culprit.

Basically, sir, im looking for a "small" crossover, and still drive fun. I'll use it for everday travel from home to school, and occasional highway runs on the weekends. So the less costly and timely to maintain and fix, the better. Based on your reply, the radiator and aircon are not an easy fix, if ever haha. Will look into the mazda cx5, its a bummer because i was really into the forester haha. Thank you sir!

one member had this done. they charged him 18k or so.

thats the price of the bushing press kit..

if you know mechanics/shops with press kits... its an easy replacement.

What a ripoff. Had this done outside at nowhere half the price for all the LCA bushings (large and small). Bushings can only be bought at M.I. though. Machine press labor was probably jacked up at M.I. I doubt they have their own machine press.

I'm not sure there's such a thing as crossover that is less costly to maintain. Probably the CRV and the Xtrail as parts might come off cheaper, but I'm also not sure on that.

Small crossover would be a Subaru XV, Nissan Juke or Mitsubishi ASX ... radiator repairs are quite simple to do ... if you are concerned with repair cost and maintenance, get a Toyota Innova or Fortuner ... the Subaru Forester is almost the same size as those two ... Mazda CX-5 1st gen are known to have transmission issues ... repair cost would be astronomical ... 200-300T ...

Try to consider a Mazda 3 1.5V ... fun to drive ... lesser maintenance cost than the Subaru Forester ... or if you really want to go cheap ... a Suzuki Swift ...

If you're considering a Suzuki Swift, Mazda CX-5 or Subaru XV ... wait for the new 2017 models to be released so the price of used ones will go lower ...

For those who replaced their tires already (2012 era Forester), what replacement tires did you buy? My tires are almost 5 years old and I'm intending to replace them (although mileage is only about 32,000 km)
